Mill Creek Elementary School opened in 1987. Our mascot is the American Alligator, more commonly referred to by the nickname "Gator". Our school colors are royal blue and hunter green.
For several years in a row, we have received the Five Star School Award. Currently we have over 900 students enrolled in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. To help students meet their academic potential we teach the Florida State Standards. In addition, many teachers are implementing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) components throughout the curriculum.
All classrooms are equipped with at least five student computers, a document camera, and an interactive whiteboard. Several classrooms also have iPads. In addition, our campus has four computer labs. We strive to provide our students and teachers with a variety of technology resources.
Students have opportunities to participate in after school activities; tutoring, enrichment, track club, Music Makers, Gatorettes, SSYR Book Club, and Lego club.
